The Two-spotted Cotton Stainer (Dysdercus bimaculatus) is a red bug in the family Pyrrhocoridae found in Central, North, and South America. It is named for its habit of staining cotton and its two prominent spots on the corium (forewing). As an immature nymph, it gathers in clusters and feeds on plants in the Malvaceae family, including cotton and hibiscus. Adults are attracted to flowers for feeding and can cause staining and damage to cotton bolls.
