Eurytides ilus, commonly known as the Ilus Swallowtail, is a graceful butterfly in the family Papilionidae. It belongs to a group of “kite” swallowtails known for their elongated hindwing tails and elegant flight. This species is found in Mexico and Central America, inhabiting tropical forests, edges, and clearings. Adults are often seen gliding smoothly through forested areas or perching on vegetation, sometimes visiting flowers or feeding on moisture from soil.
