The Many-banded Daggerwing Butterfly (Marpesia chiron), a member of the family Nymphalidae, is a distinctive and elegant butterfly recognized for its elongated wing tails and bold banding patterns. Males are often seen puddling on moist ground to extract minerals. Often rests on tree trunks or foliage with wings closed, blending into the surroundings with its cryptic underside.
