Heraclides anchisiades

The Ruby-spotted Swallowtail (Heraclides anchisiades), formerly classified as Papilio anchisiades, is a large and striking butterfly in the Papilionidae family. Forewings: Primarily black, with a slight blue or green iridescence in certain lighting conditions.
Hindwings: Feature distinct ruby-red spots near the lower margin, which stand out against the dark background. These wings are also slightly scalloped and have small tail-like extensions. Adults feed on nectar-rich flowers such as lantana, hibiscus, and bougainvillea.
