Teleus Longtail

Spicauda teleus

The Teleus Longtail (Spicauda teleus, formerly Urbanus teleus) is a Neotropical skipper butterfly recognizable by its long hindwing tails and a thin, transparent band on its forewings. It is part of a complex of similar-looking "longtail" skippers and is often seen in tropical forest clearings and gardens. Unlike the Plain Longtail, the Teleus Longtail features a thin transparent median band on the forewing. They are active nectar feeders, frequently visiting various flowers in gardens and clearings.
