Chlosyne theona, the theona checkerspot, is a species of checkerspots in the butterfly family Nymphalidae. Widely distributed in the Americas, ranging from the southwestern United States (Texas, Arizona) through Mexico and Central America to parts of South America. Thrives in sunny, open spaces where its host plants are abundant.
