Tribe Junoniini is a group of brush-footed butterflies (family Nymphalidae) that is well represented in Mexico, particularly in open habitats such as grasslands, scrublands, agricultural areas, forest edges, and coastal plains. Members of this tribe are generally medium-sized butterflies known for their bold wing patterns, prominent eyespots, and strong, agile flight. Many species display shades of orange, brown, black, and cream that help deter predators through camouflage or startling visual displays.
