Genus Pyrisitia is a genus of small to medium-sized sulphur butterflies in the subfamily Coliadinae of the family Pieridae, distributed throughout the Americas from the southern United States and Mexico to South America and the Caribbean. These butterflies are typically bright yellow, lemon-yellow, or orange-yellow, often with dark wing borders and distinctive seasonal variations in coloration. Pyrisitia species are active, fast-flying butterflies commonly found in grasslands, tropical dry forests, scrublands, roadsides, gardens, agricultural fields, and other sunny open habitats. Adults frequently visit flowers for nectar and are often among the most abundant butterflies in disturbed environments.
