Genus Nathalis is a small genus of sulphur butterflies in the subfamily Coliadinae of the family Pieridae, best known for the tiny and widespread Dainty Sulphur. This species is one of the smallest members of the Pieridae, distinguished by its bright yellow wings, delicate build, and fine black and orange markings. Nathalis butterflies are active, low-flying insects commonly found in open, sunny habitats such as grasslands, deserts, roadsides, agricultural fields, coastal plains, and tropical dry forests. Adults frequently visit small flowers for nectar and can often be seen fluttering close to the ground.
