Cudjoewood (Bonellia macrocarpa), is a robust evergreen shrub or small tree native to Mexico. he plant produces clusters of small, fragrant, orange-red flowers that are unique for having five true petals alternating with five petal-like sterile stamens. These blooms are followed by greenish to orange berries about 3 to 4 centimetres in diameter, which have a wrinkled outer skin when mature and are often consumed by birds but are not edible for humans.
