Order Cucurbitales is an order of flowering plants (angiosperms) comprising approximately 3,000 species in seven families, distributed throughout tropical, subtropical, and temperate regions of the world. Members of this order range from climbing vines and herbaceous annuals to shrubs and trees, although the best-known species belong to the gourd family. Many cucurbitales possess tendrils, unisexual flowers, and fleshy fruits adapted for animal dispersal. The largest family, Cucurbitaceae, includes economically important crops such as Cucumber, Pumpkin, Watermelon, and Bottle Gourd.
