Allamanda forms a sprawling shrub or woody climber that tends to sprawl and twine itself around a support. They have brightly coloured, golden yellow flowers that contrast with the shiny dark green leaves. The flowers can span 5 inches (12 cm). Allamandas have become naturalized throughout the tropics, growing in roadside ditches, abandoned yards, and dumps.
