Family Anthicidae comprises the ant-like flower beetles, a diverse family of small beetles in the order Coleoptera. These insects are named for their superficial resemblance to ants, often having a narrow "neck" behind the head and a constricted body shape that gives them an ant-like appearance. Anthicids are found worldwide in a variety of habitats including grasslands, forests, deserts, coastal dunes, and agricultural areas. Most species live among leaf litter, under bark, in flowers, or on low vegetation, where they feed on pollen, fungi, decaying organic matter, seeds, and small arthropods.
