Tribe Riodinini is one of the principal groups of metalmark butterflies (family Riodinidae) and is especially diverse in the tropical and subtropical regions of Mexico. These butterflies are generally small to medium-sized and are noted for their intricate wing patterns and the presence of metallic silver, gold, or iridescent markings that give the family its common name. Riodinini species inhabit a variety of environments, including tropical rainforests, cloud forests, dry forests, and woodland edges, where they often perch on leaves or visit flowers in sunny openings.
