Genus Exophthalmus is a genus of broad-nosed weevils within the family Curculionidae and subfamily Entiminae. Members of this genus are found primarily in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, and parts of the southern United States. These beetles are generally medium-sized and are often strikingly colored, with dense scales that may produce metallic green, blue-green, silver, gold, or mottled patterns. Like other broad-nosed weevils, they possess a short, broad snout and elbowed antennae. Adults feed on the leaves of trees, shrubs, and other plants, while the larvae typically live in the soil and feed on roots.
