Weevils of Zihuatanejo

TRIBE CLEOGONINI

Tribe Cleogonini is a tribe of broad-nosed weevils within the subfamily Entiminae of the family Curculionidae. Members of this tribe are found primarily in the Americas, especially in Mexico, the southwestern United States, Central America, and parts of South America. Cleogonini weevils are generally medium-sized, robust beetles with a short, broad rostrum and bodies covered with scales or dense hairs that create mottled patterns of gray, brown, white, tan, or green. These cryptic colorations provide excellent camouflage on bark, stems, soil, and foliage.
