Tribe Naupactini is a large and economically important tribe of broad-nosed weevils within the subfamily Entiminae of the family Curculionidae. The tribe is distributed primarily throughout the Neotropical region, especially in South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean, although several species have been introduced to other parts of the world through agriculture and trade. Naupactine weevils are generally medium-sized, stout-bodied beetles with a short, broad rostrum and bodies often covered with scales that create patterns of grey, brown, white, green, or metallic colouration.
