Family Chrysomelidae, commonly known as the leaf beetles, is one of the largest and most diverse families of beetles within the order Coleoptera, containing more than 35,000 described species worldwide. Members of this family are generally small to medium-sized beetles characterized by their often brightly colored, oval-shaped bodies and their close association with plants. Both larvae and adults typically feed on leaves, stems, roots, flowers, or seeds, and many species are highly specialized on particular host plants.
