Tribe Hesperiini is one of the largest and most widespread groups of skipper butterflies (family Hesperiidae) in Mexico, occurring in nearly every habitat from deserts and grasslands to tropical forests and high-elevation mountain meadows. Commonly known as grass skippers, members of this tribe are typically small to medium-sized butterflies with robust bodies, rapid darting flight, and shades of brown, orange, yellow, or tawny coloration often marked with dark spots or streaks. Many species characteristically rest with their forewings held at an angle above the hindwings, giving them a distinctive posture.
